The Monaghan Community Stop Smoking Service offers free, confidential, one-to-one support for people who want to stop smoking.
The service is provided by HSE Stop Smoking Advisors. People can self-refer and get practical advice, support with cravings and withdrawals, and information on stop smoking medication and nicotine replacement therapy.
Free nicotine replacement therapy is available for people who engage with the Stop Smoking Programme. The Monaghan leaflet notes that NRT gives a low level of nicotine without the tar, carbon monoxide and other poisonous chemicals present in tobacco, and can improve a person’s chances of quitting successfully.
