The Male Advice Line is a free national phone support service for men experiencing domestic violence or abuse.
The service is confidential and gives men space to talk through what is happening without fear, shame or blame. It can provide emotional support, practical information and signposting to other specialist supports.
The Male Advice Line is managed by Men’s Development Network and is supported and funded by Tusla’s Domestic, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence section.
Who can use this service?
The service is for men experiencing domestic abuse.
Family members, friends or others who are worried about a loved one can also contact the service for guidance on how to help.
What support is available?
The Male Advice Line can help by:
- listening and offering emotional support
- giving time to talk through experiences
- providing practical information and advice
- supporting safety planning and next steps
- signposting to domestic violence supports, mental health supports, housing, legal, parenting and other specialist organisations
The service cannot provide legal advice or specialist housing advice, but staff can signpost callers to relevant advice services.
