Men’s Health Week 2026: One Step at a Time

Progress, not perfection: small steps for better health and wellbeing

June 13, 2026

International Men’s Health Week 2026 runs from Monday 15 June to Sunday 21 June.

The week is marked in Ireland on an all-island basis and is part of a wider international campaign to support better health and wellbeing for men and boys.

This year’s theme is One Step at a Time – progress, not perfection.

The message is simple: improving health does not have to mean changing everything at once. Small, steady steps can help men and boys to build healthier habits, notice health concerns earlier and seek support when needed.

What Men’s Health Week aims to do

Men’s Health Week aims to:

  • raise awareness of preventable health problems for males of all ages
  • support men and boys to make healthier lifestyle choices
  • encourage early detection and treatment of health difficulties in males

The week is also a useful opportunity for families, friends, community groups, employers, sports clubs, service providers and health professionals to start practical conversations about men’s health.

One step at a time

For 2026, people across Ireland are being encouraged to support the health of men and boys by focusing on progress rather than perfection.

A positive step could be:

  • booking a health check
  • going for a walk
  • talking to someone about stress or low mood
  • cutting back on something that is affecting health
  • attending a local activity or support group
  • encouraging a friend, colleague or family member to seek help early

Every step counts.

Who coordinates Men’s Health Week in Ireland?

The Men’s Health Forum in Ireland coordinates Men’s Health Week activity on the island of Ireland and works with other men’s health forums across Europe and further afield.

The celebration of Men’s Health Week on the island of Ireland is funded by HSE Health and Wellbeing and the Public Health Agency.
