DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wondered why some young people feel confident saying “no”\, while others struggle — even when they know something isn’t right? \nPeer pressure\, curiosity\, stress\, and the desire to fit in can strongly influence young people’s choices. With vaping and drug experimentation becoming more common\, warnings alone are not enough. Young people need confidence\, clarity\, and supportive adults around them. \nCuriosity & Consequences: Building Confidence to Say No is a free and empowering session hosted by Future in Perspective\, designed to help adults strengthen young people’s self-esteem\, decision-making skills\, and resilience. \nThe session will explore practical\, evidence-informed strategies to support teenagers\, including: \n\n\nCommunicating effectively with young people \n\n\nBoosting confidence and self-esteem \n\n\nSetting clear\, fair\, and consistent boundaries \n\n\nCreating supportive environments at home\, school\, and youth settings \n\n\nHelping young people say “no” confidently to drugs\, vaping\, and negative peer influence \n\n\nEncouraging healthier coping strategies and positive decision-making \n\n\nParticipants will also receive free access to resources and training from the CHILL PILL project. \nThe session will feature a special guest talk from Ann Crowe\, Parenting Cavan\, who brings extensive experience in family support\, communication\, and youth wellbeing.

DESCRIPTION:This webinar is being delivered by ISPCC in collaboration with Bodywhys. The session will be led by Kathy Downes\, Support Services and Training Manager with Bodywhys\, and will provide a clear overview of what eating disorders are and how they can appear along a spectrum of disordered behaviours and thoughts about food and body image in young people. \nParents and carers will also explore how a young person with an eating disorder may experience themselves and the world\, and how supportive communication can make a difference. The webinar will cover: understanding the difference between disordered eating and an eating disorder; possible risk factors and warning signs; how to approach food and body image at home; and what next steps to consider if you are worried.

DESCRIPTION:The Invest in Play ADHD Parent Programme is designed to support parents and carers of young children with ADHD to better understand their child’s behaviours\, emotions and strengths. The programme uses evidence-based\, neuro-affirmative strategies to support positive relationships and child development through play. \nThis 12-week course is suitable for families with children aged between 2 and 6 years and is open to parents and carers with or without a formal diagnosis.
