DESCRIPTION:As part of Aware’s monthly webinar series\, this February session offers a practical and compassionate exploration of anxiety\, burnout and where they come from. \nThe webinar will look at what fuels anxiety\, including the mind–body connection and how anxiety can show up in everyday life. It will also explore how some anxiety can be helpful\, and how to recognise when it shifts from being supportive to overwhelming or contributing to burnout. \nThis session is suitable whether you are supporting someone else or navigating anxiety yourself. Participants will gain insights and tools to respond to anxiety more effectively\, build resilience\, and support mental health with greater understanding. \nThe discussion will be moderated by Dr Susan Brannick\, Clinical Director at Aware and Senior Clinical Psychologist\, with expert input from guest contributor Siobhan Murray\, Psychotherapist and Executive Coach. \nThere will be an opportunity to submit questions anonymously during the webinar. DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wondered why some young people feel confident saying “no”\, while others struggle — even when they know something isn’t right? \nPeer pressure\, curiosity\, stress\, and the desire to fit in can strongly influence young people’s choices. With vaping and drug experimentation becoming more common\, warnings alone are not enough. Young people need confidence\, clarity\, and supportive adults around them. \nCuriosity & Consequences: Building Confidence to Say No is a free and empowering session hosted by Future in Perspective\, designed to help adults strengthen young people’s self-esteem\, decision-making skills\, and resilience. \nThe session will explore practical\, evidence-informed strategies to support teenagers\, including: \n\n\nCommunicating effectively with young people \n\n\nBoosting confidence and self-esteem \n\n\nSetting clear\, fair\, and consistent boundaries \n\n\nCreating supportive environments at home\, school\, and youth settings \n\n\nHelping young people say “no” confidently to drugs\, vaping\, and negative peer influence \n\n\nEncouraging healthier coping strategies and positive decision-making \n\n\nParticipants will also receive free access to resources and training from the CHILL PILL project. \nThe session will feature a special guest talk from Ann Crowe\, Parenting Cavan\, who brings extensive experience in family support\, communication\, and youth wellbeing.
