Parenting Cavan is offering a free Parents Plus Children’s Programme for parents and guardians of children aged 6–12 years.

The programme is also suitable for parents and guardians of children with additional needs, including ADHD, autism and other developmental differences.

Parents Plus programmes are developed in partnership with families and services. They are designed to support positive outcomes for children, families, communities and the services that support them.

The programme will focus on promoting confidence, learning and positive behaviour in children aged 6–12 years.

Topics include:

• assertive parenting
• the power of good routines
• supporting children’s self-esteem and confidence
• managing behaviour
• switching “don’t” to “do”
• using rewards, choices and consequences that work
• parent self-care
• the golden rule
• dealing with tantrums and meltdowns
